Huawei will soon present a new smartphone that should resume the Nexus 6P design codes. It could be the successor to the S Mate, Mate probably baptized S2.
The TENAA, the Chinese telecommunications authority, has recorded in its database photos of a Huawei phone following its certification. This phone has not been announced, but should be soon, Huawei to hold a conference on September 1, just before the IFA.
The resemblance to the Nexus 6P, the same manufacturer, is obvious. They both share the same black band at the upper back of the device, as well as a fingerprint sensor placed (almost) the same location. But that’s about all they have in common, if you believe a previous rumor.
It is very likely that this phone is the same that has been seen there a few days GFXBench. According unveiled the specifications, this device would be powered by a Kirin processor clocked at 2.6 GHz, suspected of being the Kirin 960, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It would also have a screen of 5.9 inches of Full HD. There is also talk of a rear camera of 12 megapixels and a front 8-megapixel sensor. Hopefully it integrates a USB Type-C.
A Mate Mate S2 rather than 9
When GFXBench listing appeared, some hoped to whether the characteristics of the next series phone Mate, Mate 9. As stated Bruce Lee, the manager of the line of Huawei products, Mate 9 does will not be sold anytime soon, the Mate 8 was available since the end of last year. If we trust in Huawei schedule, it should be the successor to the Mate S, which was unveiled in September 2015.
Thus, it should well be the Huawei Mate S2 unless the Chinese firm we surprises. For official confirmation, it will be the Huawei conference to be held on 1 September.
